B. Assessment Materials

Assessments are provided on CD. All Assessments come with a licence to reproduce the materials for the life of the edition.

 

Assessment Materials Description:

These Assessment Materials have been developed by Innovative Business Resources, specifically to assess the required competencies of the particular Unit within the Business Services Training Package.

The Assessment Materials comprise four components:

 

Components
1. The Assessment Overview: provides a summary of the possible sources of evidence that may be used in assessing the various Performance Criteria within each Element of the Unit, together with an indication of the way in which the seven Key Competencies are assessed.
2. A range of Assessment Tasks: address the required Performance Criteria within each Element via
a) Questions - to assess the candidate's underpinning knowledge relating to the competencies.
b) Case Studies - to assess the candidate's application of knowledge to a simulation, in order to demonstrate decision-making, evaluation and problem-solving skills.
c) Projects - to assess process and performance through the candidate's application of knowledge to their own small business context.
d) Workplace Assessment – to assess process and performance through the candidate’s activities in the workplace.
3. An Assessment Key: provides answers, suggested responses and guidelines for judging the competencies demonstrated by candidates in their completion of the Assessment Tasks.

A Record of Assessment: is a summary of the range of sources of evidence used to assess the required competency of the candidate, and provides checkboxes for the assessor to indicate whether each competency has been met.
